How the Internet Is Replacing the Book

The other day I got a copy of Stephen Walt's 2005 book Taming American Power:The Global Response to U.S. Primacy and was surprised to read the section on the Israel lobby. It was nearly as forceful as the paper on the same subject that he and John Mearsheimer published three months ago in the London Review of Books. Hay muchas maneras en la cuales Internet reemplaza a los libros, pero digámoslo positivamente, hay ya muchas maneras en las cuales se amplía nuestro concepto de libro... No acaban los libros, todo lo contrario, se vuelven cada día más poderosos. Lo que llamábamos libro, ese conjunto de palabras reunido y organizado para un fin específico y publicado en papel, se ha logrado ampliar a conjuntos de palabras reunido y organizado para un fin específico y publicado digitalmente. Cada día leemos más palabras digitales, pero no queremos verlo. O nos da miedo reconocerlo. Matizamos. Negamos.
