Proust y los pulpos

“The secret at the heart of reading,” Wolf writes, is “the time it frees for the brain to have thoughts deeper than those that came before.” Imaging studies suggest that in many cases of dyslexia the right hemisphere never disengages, and reading remains effortful. Excelente y por demás interesante reseña del libro Proust and the Squid. Ya Derrick De Kerckhove había dicho algunas cosas parecidas en La piel de la cultura, claro, desde un punto de vista más optimista. Para él la televisión ampliaría nuestra forma de pensar, no la regresaría a estados anteriores. Lo interesante son las consecuencias: ¿nueva oralidad? Sin lectura llegamos a un mundo donde nadie duda, así de sencillo y de terrible...
